Commercial Electronic Messages (CEM)

It is a violation of the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation to send a Commercial Electronic Message (CEM) to an electronic address unless the recipient has consented to receive the CEM and the CEM contains the required information.

The Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) establishes three primary rules for sending CEM's
1) senders must have consent from the recipient of the message before sending a CEM;
2) senders must provide proper identification and contact information to the recipient in each CEM; and,
3) senders must have a functioning unsubscribe mechanism in their CEMs.
